Insurtech company At-Bay has announced the appointment of Ken Riegler as president of At-Bay Insurance.
Riegler, who brings over 25 years of experience in commercial underwriting, alternative risk management, and distribution, previously served as president of North America general insurance, retail, and field operations at AIG. At AIG, he managed a diverse, multi-billion dollar portfolio that included property, casualty, financial lines, and specialty.
Before his tenure at AIG, Riegler held positions as president of North America casualty for XL Catlin (now AXA XL) and president of ACE Group’s multinational client group for North America (now Chubb).
Rotem Iram, CEO and co-founder of At-Bay, expressed enthusiasm for Riegler’s appointment, noting his extensive experience in scaling successful insurance organizations and products, which will be pivotal for At-Bay’s growth and development in the insurance sector.
In his new role, Riegler will focus on enhancing At-Bay’s position in the excess and surplus (E&S) insurance market and strengthening relationships with broker partners and clients. He will work alongside Kristie Felton, head of insurance, who will continue to oversee underwriting, partnerships, and field operations, supporting the company’s expansion efforts.
Riegler commented on his new position, emphasizing At-Bay’s reputation for innovation and service in the industry. He highlighted the company’s integration of AI, machine learning technology, and cybersecurity expertise as key factors positioning At-Bay as a leading provider of cyber insurance and InsurSec solutions.
Additionally, Riegler will join the board of directors of At-Bay Specialty Insurance Company, the company’s E&S carrier.
Early last year, At-Bay made headlines by becoming a full-stack insurance carrier, following its acquisition of At-Bay Specialty Insurance Company from XL Insurance America. Domiciled in Delaware, At-Bay Specialty Insurance Company is an excess and surplus lines P&C insurer licensed in 44 states.
This move to a full-stack carrier will allow At-Bay to better serve its policyholders and expedite its planned product expansion into additional specialty lines.
