Chubb has announced the appointment of Tim Benson as executive vice president of multinational insurance, effective October 30. In his new role, Benson will lead the strategy, underwriting operations, and product and business development for Chubb’s multinational portfolio, which spans large, middle, and small businesses, as well as wholesale accounts.
Based at Chubb’s headquarters in Philadelphia, Benson will report directly to Matthew Merna, division president of North America Major Accounts. Benson and his team will collaborate closely with Chubb’s Global Services group to drive growth and innovation within the multinational insurance division.
Merna shared that Benson’s extensive industry experience and long tenure in Chubb is an asset to the company’s Multinational Insurance business unit as it grows and evolves.
“Tim’s track record of success at Chubb and proven leadership skills are an ideal fit for his new role. We are excited to see him bring Chubb’s full scope of multinational capabilities to our clients and distribution partners,” added Ben Rockwell, division president of Chubb Middle Market.
Benson steps into the role previously held by Laura Vest, who dedicated two decades to the company.
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Benson has held various leadership positions at Chubb. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief revenue officer for the company’s middle market division. His career at Chubb includes roles in field distribution, data analytics, and leadership of the middle market and small commercial underwriting team from 2011 to 2019, focusing on international risks for U.S. multinationals. He also headed Chubb’s Global Services organization, following his start with the company in corporate finance in 2005.
