Independent re/insurance brokerage Miller has announced key appointments as part of its expansion strategy in the professional and financial lines sector. Amanda Armitage and Scott Gorman, both seasoned industry professionals, are joining the Miller team to enhance its capabilities and service offerings.
Amanda Armitage joins Miller’s international professions team as a business development manager, bringing over 15 years of expertise, particularly in professional indemnity. Prior to this role, she served as a development director at PIB Insurance Brokers, where she focused on identifying new business opportunities in industries including renewables, healthcare, logistics, property, and construction.
Scott Gorman will lead Miller’s UK and international professional indemnity wholesale team. Gorman, who also has a strong background in professional indemnity, previously led the new business division at Price Forbes (formerly MGB Insurance Brokers) and has experience as an underwriter at Wimsure Underwriting and in Towergate’s financial risks team. In his new role, Gorman will focus on expanding Miller’s wholesale services for brokers across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, and Australia, as well as providing expertise to clients needing specialized products from a London-based broker.
Taurai Ushe, head of new business development in Miller’s UK professions team, commented that Armitage’s appointment underscores Miller’s ability to attract seasoned professionals across the industry.
