Canopius Group, a global leader in specialty and property and casualty (P&C) re/insurance, has announced the appointment of Olivia Brindle as its new Head of Sustainability.
Effective immediately, Brindle will report directly to Lindsay Astor, Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy. In her new role, she will spearhead Canopius’ sustainability initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into a unified strategy. Her work will focus on advancing the company’s commitment to driving environmental and social resilience across its operations.
A key aspect of Brindle’s responsibilities will involve developing and overseeing sustainable underwriting guidelines and championing innovative products. These efforts aim to enable Canopius to achieve its sustainability objectives while also setting a positive example for the broader insurance industry and society at large.
Brindle brings to the role 16 years of extensive experience in consulting, financial markets, and the (re)insurance sector. Most recently, she was with The Fidelis Partnership, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the sustainability function and achieving significant milestones. Prior to that, she held positions at Swiss Re, working in P&C Solutions and later in investor relations. Her earlier career included serving as an equity analyst covering (re)insurance for global investment banks and beginning her professional journey in strategy consulting. Brindle’s academic background is rooted in finance.
