Harford Mutual Insurance Group has announced several key leadership appointments and promotions as part of its ongoing commitment to organizational growth and operational excellence.
Shane Crockett Named Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer
Harford Mutual has appointed Shane Crockett as vice president and chief underwriting officer. With over 15 years of experience in insurance underwriting, Crockett most recently served as senior director of underwriting and production for agriculture at Markel, a global specialty insurance provider. Prior to that, he held various roles at Liberty Mutual, including vice president and regional underwriting manager for the Mid-Atlantic region.
In his new role, Crockett will oversee all underwriting business units at Harford Mutual, focusing on driving profitability and sustainable growth.
Promotions Within the Company
The company has also elevated two internal leaders to new roles:
- Bryan Yekstat, who joined Harford Mutual in 2011, has been promoted to assistant vice president of claims. Yekstat will be responsible for ensuring efficient claims handling and enhancing operational processes. He previously served as director of claims for workers’ compensation.
- Matthew Summerell, who has been with the company since 2018, has been promoted to assistant vice president of business development. In this capacity, he will lead the formulation and execution of the company’s business development strategy. Summerell most recently served as director of business development.
New Appointment: Craig White as Director of Information Security
Craig White has joined Harford Mutual as director of information security. With over 17 years of experience in information security and technology, White previously held the position of assistant vice president of information security at Tower Federal Credit Union.
In his new role, White will focus on bolstering Harford Mutual’s cybersecurity defenses and overseeing the development and implementation of proactive security measures to protect company systems against emerging threats.
Recent Leadership Changes
These latest appointments follow a series of leadership changes made by Harford Mutual last year, including:
- Pauline Bao promoted to assistant vice president and chief actuary.
- Christopher D’Alessio promoted to assistant vice president of underwriting.
- Jillian Taylor named assistant vice president of finance.
- Denise Elias appointed director of claims, auto and operations.
