Alps, a leading specialist managing general agent (MGA) known for its comprehensive insurance add-on policies, legal expenses coverage, and claims solutions for intermediaries, has announced the appointment of Nick Copley as its new Head of Claims.
Copley brings a decade of experience with Alps, having played a key role in the litigation team and most recently serving as Legal Team Manager. In his new capacity, he will focus on enhancing Alps’ claims service, ensuring efficient service delivery to brokers and claimants, and overseeing the company’s claims management and legal service operations.
Alps manages all claims in-house, maintaining direct oversight and quality control across its diverse portfolio of add-on covers. These include motor-related policies such as excess protect, tools in transit, vehicle replacement, and road rescue, as well as property-related add-ons covering landlord excess protection, home emergency, key cover, and second property legal expenses.
The company has also reported significant operational efficiency, with over 90% of customer calls answered within 20 seconds and urgent requests—such as callbacks and payments—handled by the end of the business day.
In response to proposed reforms under the Renters’ Rights Bill, Alps has expanded its product offerings with the introduction of “Not for Lions,” a pet damage protection product designed to assist landlords in meeting the new legislative requirements. This latest addition reflects Alps’ commitment to providing innovative solutions in an evolving regulatory landscape.
