Wefox Secures €151 Million To Drive Expansion And Reshapes Board Leadership

Insurtech company wefox has raised €151 million in new funding, comprising a €76 million capital injection from existing investors and €75 million in refinancing secured through the Searchlight Opportunities Fund II, managed by Searchlight Capital Partners.

The fresh capital will support wefox’s continued expansion of its Managing General Agent (MGA) operations and insurance distribution capabilities, both within its current footprint and in new markets. The company is currently active in Austria, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

In Austria, wefox offers a digital platform for retail insurance brokers and operates as a wholesale broker. In the Netherlands, it delivers term-life insurance solutions under the TAF brand, utilising a full-service MGA model. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, wefox provides retail insurance distribution and personalised risk advisory services.

As part of the refinancing process, wefox Holding AG has announced key changes to its Board of Directors. Joachim Müller, CEO of wefox, and Prateek Puri, Partner at Searchlight Capital Partners, have joined the board. At the same time, founding members Julian Teicke, Fabian Wesemann, Dario Fazlic, and Nikolaus Frei have stepped down.

Müller expressed his appreciation for the contributions of the wefox team and the support of investors during the company’s recent strategic shifts. He also thanked the departing board members for their service and welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Puri in his new role.
