AXIS Capital Holdings has announced the launch of AXIS Capacity Solutions, a dedicated business unit designed to develop and manage structured and multi-line portfolio capacity arrangements, offered on both facilitated and delegated bases.
The unit will be led by David Murie in the newly created role of Head of AXIS Capacity Solutions, reporting to Group Chief Underwriting Officer Dan Draper from the company’s London office.
A chartered accountant with over 15 years of industry experience, Murie has held several senior positions at AXIS, including Global Head of Underwriting Governance & Execution and Head of Business Performance for AXIS International Insurance. His earlier career included managerial roles at Aviva.
Leveraging AXIS’s global underwriting platform and Lloyd’s licences, AXIS Capacity Solutions will work with strategic partners to deliver scalable multi-line portfolio structures. The model, gaining momentum in London and other specialty markets, enables carriers to strengthen broker relationships, open new premium streams, and manage portfolio volatility. For brokers, it offers a more streamlined placement process and a single point of access to multiple risk classes.
The launch coincides with a series of leadership changes within AXIS’s Global Markets division, aimed at enhancing underwriting performance across specialty lines. Sarah Stephen has been promoted to Head of Liability, overseeing the General Liability and International Casualty MGA teams in London. She reports to Dax Gulmohamed, who has expanded his responsibilities to lead all Global Markets liability operations alongside his existing roles in Professional Lines and as CEO of AXIS Specialty Europe SE.
