Legal & General has announced two key leadership appointments as the group accelerates its strategic and organisational development. Emma Holden has been named chief people officer, while Andy Sinclair will take on a newly created role overseeing strategy and investor relations. Both appointments are expected to take effect at the end of January 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Holden will lead the group’s people strategy and join the Group Management Committee, reporting to chief executive António Simões. She currently serves as chief people officer at Man Group and previously spent 17 years at Schroders in roles spanning human resources, communications and investor relations.
Sinclair will head the combined Group Strategy and Investor Relations function, reporting directly to Simões and working closely with chief financial officer Andrew Kail. He joins from Bank of America Securities, where he is managing director and head of the European insurance team. His two-decade career includes actuarial and analyst roles at Bank of America and Standard Life, and he is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Commenting on the appointments, Simões said: “Andy brings a wealth of knowledge of the insurance sector and long-standing relationships across the investment community. Together they strengthen our leadership team and will help us deliver on our strategic ambitions.”
The leadership changes come as Legal & General continues to receive market attention for its financial performance. The group recently reported a dividend yield of 9.2%, supported by a £500 million share buyback under its three-year £5 billion capital return programme. Core operating profit rose 6% to £1.6 billion for the full year 2024.
