UK And Global Insurance Markets See Senior Appointments

The UK and international insurance markets continue to see notable senior appointments across the property and broking sectors, underlining ongoing investment in leadership and specialist expertise.

AIG strengthens UK real estate team

AIG has appointed Dean Cloke as head of real estate, commercial property UK. In his new role, Cloke will be responsible for advancing AIG’s real estate insurance portfolio and shaping its go-to-market strategy. He will also focus on building a strong specialist team to support the insurer’s growth ambitions in the sector.

Cloke joins from Everest Insurance, where he served as head of property for the UK and Ireland. Prior to that, he spent almost 16 years at Zurich Insurance, holding a number of senior property and real estate leadership positions.

Chubb names global property leader

Chubb has appointed Aaron Shead as executive vice president and head of property for Chubb Overseas General Insurance (COG).

Shead will oversee the development, profitability and performance of Chubb’s fire, terrorism, power and energy portfolios, while also acting as business leader for major property accounts. With more than 25 years of international insurance experience, including his most recent role as head of fire for COG, Shead’s appointment reflects Chubb’s focus on technical expertise and leadership within its global property operations.

Lloyd & Whyte boosts community broking capability

Lloyd & Whyte has strengthened its community broking division with the appointment of Richard Spencer MCMI as head of business development for Wales and the South West.

Spencer brings four decades of insurance broking experience to the role, including time spent as a national sales director. He will support growth initiatives, champion best practice and contribute strategic insight to the business. Commenting on his appointment, Spencer pointed to Lloyd & Whyte’s strong client- and community-focused culture, as well as its ambition to become the UK’s leading corporate donor.
