HDI Global UK & Ireland has appointed Michael Reynolds as motor fleet underwriting director, with effect from February 1, 2026.
Reynolds has been with HDI since 2015 and currently serves as motor fleet underwriting manager. During his tenure, he has held roles across both underwriting and claims. In his new position, Reynolds will be responsible for leading the UK & Ireland motor fleet underwriting strategy, with a particular focus on the development of telematics and enhanced risk management initiatives.
He will initially report to Stephanie Ogden, chief executive officer and interim chief underwriting officer for long-tail lines at HDI UK & Ireland, He is set to succeed Phil Healy, who is scheduled to retire on March 31, 2026.
The appointment comes amid broader senior underwriting changes at HDI UK & Ireland, including the recent announcement of Tom Potter as director of liability, effective September this year.
At group level, HDI Global has also strengthened its specialty capabilities in London, appointing Georgina Smart as head of global risk bloodstock & equine, effective October.
These leadership moves follow positive 2025 performance updates for the group, which reported a return on equity of 16.9% for the first nine months of the year and a 13% increase in HDI Global’s contribution to Talanx Group’s net income, rising to €409 million.
