Seventeen Group has confirmed the acquisitions of Citrus Healthcare and Smith England Insurance Brokers into James Hallam, its UK retail arm, adding a combined £12 million in gross written premium (GWP) to the business.
Citrus Healthcare, a private medical brokerage founded in 2010 by Richard and Claire Bamford and based in Kent, is set to bolster James Hallam’s Employee Benefits division. Meanwhile, Smith England Insurance Brokers, led by Nigel Smith and headquartered in Cheadle, provides services to corporate clients through a risk management-focused approach and is expected to support the group’s expansion across the North-West of England.
Richard and Claire Bamford said they were “very excited” to join Seventeen Group, adding that they look forward to contributing to and strengthening the Employee Benefits division as part of the wider organisation.
Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed beyond the combined GWP figure.
The acquisitions follow a period of notable activity for Seventeen Group spanning late 2025 and early 2026, during which the company has expanded its footprint in the North-West and North-East of England while enhancing its specialist capabilities for corporate clients, particularly in risk management and employee benefits.
