This week’s senior appointments span Lloyd’s governance, premium finance technology, artificial intelligence and the insurance industry’s efforts to strengthen resilience in developing markets.
Premium Credit appoints product director and head of AI delivery
Premium finance provider Premium Credit has appointed Ben Andrews as product director and Sam Harry as head of AI delivery.
Andrews joins Premium Credit from Octopus Investments, where he led product and data insight. He brings 20 years of product experience to the role, including previous leadership positions in digital product at Virgin Media and BT. At Premium Credit, he will lead the company’s transition to a product operating model.
Harry has been appointed to the newly created head of AI delivery position. His responsibilities will include overseeing the AI projects the company chooses to pursue and establishing the governance framework required to scale AI safely. Before joining Premium Credit, he served as AI product lead at UBS Investment Bank.
Premium Credit is integrated into the payment journeys of many insurance brokers, meaning changes to its products and processes can directly affect how clients pay for insurance cover. Its focus on AI governance is particularly relevant as brokers remain responsible for customer outcomes relating to finance arrangements they introduce under the Consumer Duty.
IDF appoints deputy chair of steering committee
The Insurance Development Forum (IDF) has appointed Hope Murera as deputy chair of its steering committee.
Murera is managing director and group chief executive of ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company) and was already a member of the committee. She will continue in her existing role at ZEP-RE.
She has more than 30 years of experience across the African insurance and reinsurance sectors. Murera also chairs ACRE Africa, the agricultural technology subsidiary of ZEP-RE that focuses on climate resilience for farmers.
The IDF is a public-private partnership focused on expanding insurance access in developing economies. For London brokers involved in parametric, agricultural and sovereign risk programmes, Murera’s senior role within the organisation connects global insurance capacity with developing markets where insurance demand is growing.
Asta appoints independent non-executive director
Asta has appointed Bob Stuchbery as an independent non-executive director of the Asta Managing Agency board, with his appointment taking effect on October 1.
Stuchbery spent more than two decades at Chaucer, where he ultimately served as chief executive until 2015. He later became president of international operations at The Hanover Insurance Group.
He joined the Beazley plc board in 2016 and, until recently, chaired its Lloyd’s managing agency, Beazley Furlonge. He has also served as an independent non-executive director of South African insurer Santam since September 2025.
Stuchbery succeeds Nylesh Shah, who joined the Asta board as an independent director earlier this year.
Asta’s platform hosts third-party syndicates, including start-ups and specialist underwriting businesses used by brokers. Stuchbery’s experience as a former Lloyd’s chief executive and managing agency chair adds further industry experience to the board as Lloyd’s continues its oversight of new market entrants.
