Cognitive Credit Secures $40 Million Investment To Expand AI Credit Analytics

Cognitive Credit, a provider of corporate credit data, analytics and artificial intelligence tools, has secured a $40 million strategic growth investment as institutional investors increasingly seek reliable, verifiable data to support AI-powered credit analysis.

The funding round was led by Summit Partners, with existing investor ETFS Capital also participating. Chris Bon, a partner at Summit Partners, has joined Cognitive Credit’s board of directors. The investment will support the company’s expansion in the US market and the development of its next generation of products.

Two key initiatives are central to the company’s product roadmap. The first, DealConnect, is expected to launch imminently and will enable users to access detailed credit models on demand for private issuers that share their financial reporting through secure data rooms.

Cognitive Credit is also preparing to introduce agentic credit analysis, which combines advanced AI capabilities with verified financial data to automate detailed fundamental research. Alongside these developments, the company intends to broaden its issuer coverage across additional credit markets.

The company operates a web-based platform designed to support analysts throughout the credit research process. It combines verified financial data, specialised analytics and generative AI tools tailored to the credit industry. Its proprietary dataset draws on the analysis of hundreds of thousands of financial reports, providing audit-grade credit models and primary reporting libraries for more than 3,500 corporate bond and loan issuers across the US, Europe and emerging markets.

Users can access the company’s data through multiple channels, including a REST API, an Excel add-in and a Claude connector. The platform also enables users to trace its outputs back to their original sources, supporting transparency and verification throughout the research process.

Adoption of the platform has grown significantly. More than 80% of the 25 largest asset managers by assets under management (AUM), along with all of the top 10 investment banks ranked on global debt league tables, now use the platform. Over the past three years, the number of active users has increased by 240%, while issuer coverage has more than doubled.

The investment comes amid continued growth in the scale and complexity of global corporate credit markets. According to the OECD’s Global Debt Report 2026, approximately $60 trillion in corporate bonds and syndicated loans is outstanding worldwide, with nearly $14 trillion raised during 2025.

Much of the fundamental information needed to assess credit risk remains unstructured or is disclosed privately to lenders and investors. This limits the ability of general-purpose AI models to access and independently verify the underlying information. As a result, demand is increasing for reliable, traceable datasets that can support more transparent and dependable AI-driven credit research.
