Zurich Insurance Group has declared the appointment of Sarah Maillet as chief financial officer of its retail insurance business, effective June 01. She succeeds Paolo Mantero, who was appointed group chief strategy officer last year.
In her new role, Maillet will be accountable for leading, directing and controlling the financial resources of Zurich Commercial Insurance, partnering nearly with local businesses. She will be based in Zurich, Switzerland, reporting to Zurich Commercial Insurance CEO Sierra Signorelli.
“The corporate risk terrain is becoming more complex and evolves at a fast pace,” Signorelli said. “In this environment, the financial health of our business is of paramount importance. Sarah will be a valuable improvement to our team as we take strategic decisions for the Group’s 2023-2025 cycle.”
Maillet has over 20 years of finance experience in the insurance industry, having held various management roles across numerous jurisdictions. Most recently, she was the CFO of Aviva Insurance in the UK. She also worked as AIG’s Global Commercial and Americas CFO.
