Phoenix Group Declares Executive Council Shakeup

Phoenix Group (Phoenix) has facilitated Bríd Meaney to Heritage CEO and appointed Jackie Noakes as chief modification officer.

Meaney has been with Phoenix since 2001 and has since helped with Andy Moss, Life Companies CEO, and Heritage group director. Before marrying the group, she was a partner for the KPMG Advisory business for more than a decade. She will take on her new role after Phoenix announced Moss’s retirement after 18 years of service.

Blake’s joined Phoenix from the Bank of Ireland, where she was the group’s chief operating officer. Previously, she held senior roles at Legal & General and American Express, encompassing CEO of mature savings at Legal & General. In the newly created role, she will lead and enhance Phoenix’s change capability and drive and oversee its modification projects.

Phoenix CEO Andry Briggs commented: “I am delighted to announce the appointments of Jackie Noakes and Bríd Meaney, who will be marrying the Phoenix executive committee. They are exceptional leaders and make us more diverse.”

The latest appointments boost the female ratio on Phoenix’s executive committee to over 42%, with more than half of the current board of directors made up of women.

Commenting on the new member of the team, Briggs said: “The delivery of our change and transformation agenda is critical. Jackie brings substantial experience in shaping and delivering strategic business change, as well as leading and implementing technology-enabled industry transformation. I am confident that her leadership skills and expertise in this newly created role will further strengthen our ability to attain the goals we have set for the business.”

Briggs also thanked Moss for his contributions to the group over the past 18 years, where “he has been instrumental in the development of Phoenix Group and for building an industry-leading Heritage business.”
