Acies MGU, a technology- and data-driven managing general underwriter (MGU), has announced the launch of Acies Specialist Schemes, a new managing general agent (MGA) offering tailored insurance products for the recruitment industry.
The newly formed MGA is led by senior underwriter Rachael Light, who brings extensive experience in delegated authority schemes and niche-sector underwriting. Acies Specialist Schemes aims to deliver bespoke, sector-specific insurance solutions for industries underserved by traditional markets.
The first product from Acies Specialist Schemes is designed specifically for recruitment firms and is supported by A-rated capacity. It provides a comprehensive package that includes professional indemnity, public liability, employers’ liability, property cover, and business interruption. The product also addresses key sector-specific risks, such as contractual liabilities, overseas placements, and other unique exposures faced by recruitment businesses.
Rachael Light joins Acies from SEIB Insurance Brokers, where she managed delegated authority schemes for seven years before moving to Kingfisher Insurance Services. She is joined by Nikki Cox, who also transitions from Kingfisher. Cox has a strong background in commercial insurance, with previous roles including commercial account handler and commercial manager at SEIB.
The launch of Acies Specialist Schemes follows Acies MGU’s broader strategy to develop targeted MGAs for underserved sectors. In April 2024, the company introduced Phoenix Specialty, a specialist MGA focused on the construction industry. Phoenix is led by managing director Tim James, pending regulatory approval.
With the addition of Acies Specialist Schemes, Acies MGU continues to strengthen its position as a provider of innovative, data-informed underwriting solutions across niche markets.
