Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Philip Graham as the new head of marine for the regional unit London (RUL) & Nordics and global product lead – marine penalty.
With his appointment effective this April, Graham will lead AGCS’s marine portfolio and team across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics. He will report to both AGCS managing director of RUL & Nordics Nadia Côté and AGCS global head of marine Ulrich Kadow. Graham will be based in London, and he will succeed Andrew Whitehouse, a release said.
“I am delighted Philip is joining AGCS,” said Côté. “His extensive experience and breadth of marine underwriting knowledge, coupled with this expert reputation in the market, make him the ideal person to lead our regional marine portfolio and steer our marine liability products globally.”
Graham has more than 30 years of marine underwriting experience, having joined AGCS from Chaucer Syndicates, where he most recently served as head of marine global. In that role, he led a team that managed all areas of marine insurance offerings and sat on the steering committees for ESG underwriting, product oversight, and reinsurance security. Graham also served as chairperson of the IUMI Facts and Figures committee.
In December, AGCS established a new in-house environmental, social, and governance (ESG) team, which aims to help support the company’s clients with their transition to a net-zero economy. For the team, AGCS tapped Gabrielle Durisch to serve as the global head of ESG & sustainability solutions and Ralf Heintges as the global head of ESG & sustainability governance.
