Allianz UK Partners With Evoque Group To Advance Sustainable Claims Management

Allianz UK has formed a new partnership with Evoque Group Limited, a specialist in zero-to-landfill solutions, as part of its commitment to embedding sustainability across its operations and claims processes.

Evoque, which focuses on salvage resale and recycling, will initially collaborate with Allianz’s commercial property claims team. The partnership will enable the identification of items within claims that can be salvaged, repurposed, or disposed of through environmentally responsible methods.

In 2024, Evoque successfully diverted 3.3 million kilograms of waste from landfill, combining resale and zero-to-landfill recycling efforts to cut an estimated 7,500 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The company is targeting an increase to 6 million kilograms of waste diversion in 2025, supported by partnerships such as the one with Allianz.

Through this collaboration, Allianz aims to ensure that damaged materials from claims are managed responsibly. Items unsuitable for reuse will still be disposed of sustainably, while salvageable items can generate credits (after costs and fees) that are applied back to the claim, helping to reduce overall claims costs.

The partnership reflects a broader industry shift towards sustainable claims management. According to the European Commission, insurers have a key role to play in strengthening climate resilience and addressing the protection gap.

Claims professionals are increasingly guiding carbon-conscious disaster recovery strategies, with a focus on restoration, recycling, and material repurposing to cut waste and lower claim costs. The approach emphasises repair over replacement and explores innovative ways to give new life to materials that might once have been discarded.

Brokers are increasingly supporting clients in adopting sustainable repair practices, promoting the use of low-carbon materials, and incorporating green clauses into insurance policies. These efforts align with the UK’s 2050 net-zero target and respond to rising client demand for carbon-conscious services and guidance on sustainable claims solutions.
