Argo Group International Holdings, a leading specialty insurance underwriter, has announced the appointment of Chris Donahue as its new Chief Executive Officer. Donahue, who joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in November 2023, succeeds Jessica Buss in the role.

Alongside Donahue’s promotion, Argo has appointed David Chan as Chief Financial Officer. Chan, who has served as the company’s Chief Accounting Officer since 2022, brings extensive experience from senior positions at AmTrust Financial Services, Moody’s Investor Services, and PwC.
The leadership changes reflect Argo’s continued efforts to streamline operations and strengthen its foothold in the U.S. specialty insurance market. Over the past few years, the company has undergone significant restructuring, divesting non-core international businesses to prioritize domestic growth.

In August 2021, Susan Comparato was appointed Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing legal, compliance, and regulatory functions. More recently, in January 2025, Stephen Perrella was named Chief Claims Officer. With previous experience at Vantage Risk Companies and Aspen Insurance Group, Perrella now spearheads Argo’s claims strategy in response to evolving market conditions.
