AXA XL, Incline P&C Group, and RSUM have announced significant leadership appointments aimed at enhancing their positions in the specialty insurance and reinsurance markets.
AXA XL Appoints New Chief Underwriting Officer
AXA XL has named Simon Rees as Chief Underwriting Officer for North America Programs. Currently serving as Chief Reserving Actuary for the Americas, Rees will transition into his new role on April 1, reporting to Tim Whisler, Head of Wholesale Solutions, Americas.
Rees joined AXA XL in 2017 as Head of Reinsurance Reserving for its international and London operations. In 2021, he became Deputy Chief Actuary for the Americas before being promoted to Chief Actuary in 2022. With over two decades of experience in the insurance sector, Rees has contributed to businesses ranging from startups to global corporations, leading teams to achieve strong financial performance.
Incline P&C Group Welcomes New Board Member
Incline P&C Group has appointed Thomas Wafer as an independent director on the board of each of its insurance carriers.
With more than 40 years of experience in reinsurance and insurance, Wafer has held leadership roles in various organizations. He most recently served as Chairman of Willis Re/Gallagher Re North America, playing a pivotal role in shaping strategic operations. His career includes executive positions such as President at Third Point Re (USA) Ltd., and President and Chairman of Global Reinsurance at Alterra. Additionally, he has led operations at Harbor Point Re in the US and Bermuda and has held key roles at Chubb Re and Guy Carpenter Marsh & McLennan.
In his new position, Wafer will support Incline P&C Group’s program management and risk solutions initiatives while serving on the audit committee for the company’s carriers.
RSUM Names New President
Ryan Specialty has promoted Eric Quinn to President of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), effective immediately. This appointment will see Quinn take over the role previously held by Miles Wuller, who remains Chief Executive Officer of RSUM.
Quinn joined RSUM through the acquisition of All Risks in 2020. He was promoted last year to Executive Vice President of Capital and Product Strategy and has previously served as Senior Vice President. With extensive experience in capital and program management, Quinn is set to lead RSUM’s specialty underwriting segment into its next phase of growth.
These strategic leadership changes underscore the ongoing commitment of AXA XL, Incline P&C Group, and RSUM to strengthening their market positions and enhancing operational excellence.
