AXIS Capital, Arch Insurance UK, and B.P. Marsh & Partners have announced a series of senior hires and board-level changes, highlighting ongoing recruitment momentum and evolving leadership strategies across the UK insurance market.
Governance changes at B.P. Marsh & Partners
B.P. Marsh & Partners Plc has announced a number of internal leadership shifts as part of its long-term succession strategy. Founder Brian Marsh OBE — who established the firm in 1989 and has served as executive chairman since its 2006 listing — has transitioned to the role of non-executive chairman.
Dan Topping (pictured left) has been appointed chief executive officer. Topping joined the business in 2007, became a board director in 2011 and took on responsibility for portfolio and investment strategy in 2016 when he was named chief investment officer.
Additional organisational adjustments include the promotion of Alice Foulk (pictured right) from managing director to chief operating officer. Francesca Chappell continues in her role as chief finance officer.
AXIS Capital Appoints Head of Delegated Strategy
AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has named Lewis Edwards to the newly created position of head of delegated strategy, global markets.
Based in London and reporting to Sara Farrup, head of global markets, Edwards will oversee the development and strategic management of the company’s coverholder and managing general agent (MGA) relationships.
He joins from Liberty Specialty Markets, where he spent seven years and most recently led the Delegated Authority Practice. His earlier experience includes senior underwriting and management roles at Allianz Corporate & Specialty, and previous positions at AIG and Heath Lambert.
Arch Insurance UK Strengthens Underwriting Teams
Arch Insurance UK’s regional division has expanded its underwriting capabilities with three senior appointments across its motor fleet and motor trade portfolios.
- Paul Fincham has been appointed senior new business fleet underwriter, taking responsibility for new business development across the South and Thames Valley. He joins from AXA and reports to regional manager Janice Mullan.
- Aaron Hobbs, based in Southampton, has been named senior existing business fleet underwriter with oversight of fleet renewal activities in the same regions. He joins from Aviva and will also report to Mullan.
- Helen Williams has been appointed senior motor trade underwriter. Operating from Manchester within the national underwriting hub, she reports to NUH team manager Kimberely Bloor. Williams previously held positions at Geo Agriculture.
These appointments signal the sector’s ongoing focus on strengthening leadership teams and enhancing underwriting expertise amid evolving market demands.
