BIBA Appoints Iain Anderson As Non-Executive Director

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has named Iain Anderson, founder and former chair of public policy consultancy H/Advisors Cicero, as a non-executive director on its main board. He will formally assume the position on 22 September 2025.

BIBA’s board is primarily composed of practising insurance brokers from across its membership base, supported by independent perspectives brought by non-executive directors such as Anderson, Jonathan Evans and incoming chair Caroline Barr.

Anderson’s appointment comes as the insurance broking sector faces mounting challenges, with BIBA playing an increasingly active role in lobbying on key issues including SME access to insurance, the adoption of new technologies in broking, and consumer protection.

The move follows leadership changes announced last year, when Alistair Fraser became chair of BIBA’s Large Brokers’ Advisory Board (LBAB), with Phil Williams stepping in as deputy chair.

With extensive experience advising both government and corporate leaders, Anderson is expected to strengthen the board’s ability to represent brokers’ interests in forthcoming discussions on regulation, resilience, and the evolving role of intermediaries within the insurance market.
