Two leading consultancy firms, BIP and Thoughtworks, have announced senior leadership appointments aimed at bolstering their presence in the UK’s insurance and financial services sectors. These strategic hires reflect a continued industry focus on digital transformation, operational resilience, and navigating complex regulatory environments.

Lisa Orme to Lead BIP’s UK Insurance Practice

BIP has appointed Lisa Orme as Partner and Head of its UK Insurance Practice, marking a significant step in the firm’s strategic expansion within the region.

With more than two decades of experience in the insurance and consultancy sectors, Orme will be tasked with expanding BIP’s client base, introducing innovative service offerings, and tailoring the firm’s global capabilities to meet the specific needs of the UK market. Her expertise spans operational resilience, cost optimisation, regulatory compliance, and strategic transformation.

Prior to joining BIP, Orme held senior roles at Capgemini and DXC Technology, where she supported clients across General Insurance, Life & Wealth, and the London Market.

BIP highlighted Orme’s appointment as a pivotal move in aligning its international strengths with local market demands. Key focus areas for the UK insurance practice include regulatory risk, data and AI integration, ESG considerations, system modernisation, digital transformation, and the development of ecosystem partnerships.

Thoughtworks Appoints Rav Hayer to Lead BFSI in Europe

Meanwhile, global technology consultancy Thoughtworks has named Rav Hayer as Managing Director for the UK & Ireland and Head of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) for Europe.

Hayer brings over 25 years of experience in financial services technology, strategic consulting, and large-scale digital transformation. He joins from Alvarez & Marsal, where he led high-impact digital initiatives for financial institutions across Europe.

In his new regional leadership role, Hayer will be responsible for sharpening Thoughtworks’ strategic direction and deepening client partnerships, while also reinforcing the company’s position as a top employer for technology talent. As the Head of BFSI Europe, he will lead efforts to support financial institutions across the region in their digital transformation journeys, with a focus on leveraging AI, cloud technologies, and data analytics.

Hayer emphasized the strategic timing of his appointment, pointing to strong opportunities in the UK and Ireland for tech-driven innovation, as well as the broader momentum of digital transformation within Europe’s financial services sector.
