Bondaval has entered into a global partnership with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to expand access to technology-driven credit insurance solutions.
Effective January 1, 2026, Bondaval will begin underwriting and issuing credit insurance policies and nonpayment guarantees via its proprietary platform, backed by Swiss Re’s underwriting capacity.
The collaboration enables Swiss Re to scale its credit insurance operations, while providing Bondaval with the resources to extend its reach across the UK, EU, US, and Canada, with further international expansion on the horizon. Bondaval’s platform is built to move beyond conventional policy administration by integrating directly with corporate systems, offering credit managers real-time visibility into exposures and risks.
The deal underscores a growing wave of partnerships between fintechs and insurers aimed at delivering more adaptive forms of credit protection. Allianz Trade, for example, has embedded trade credit insurance within TreviPay’s invoicing system, while Barclays has partnered with fintech Nimbla to allow small businesses to insure individual invoices rather than entire receivables portfolios. Similar to these initiatives, Bondaval’s model reflects the rising demand for flexible, embedded credit solutions.
For insurers, strategic partnerships are creating new opportunities to scale operations and tap into wider distribution channels, while fintechs contribute advanced technology that enables faster policy issuance and more detailed risk analysis. Industry experts suggest these collaborations are transforming credit insurance from a passive safety net into a proactive risk management tool.
The development also heightens competition in the global credit insurance sector, where both established players and new entrants are racing to modernize their offerings.
By combining Swiss Re’s underwriting capacity with Bondaval’s digital platform, the partnership highlights a broader shift in the market—away from traditional annual policies and toward embedded, real-time credit insurance solutions.
