Daniel P. Olohan has been named the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MAPFRE USA, effective August 1. Olohan, who joined MAPFRE USA in 2006, has served as General Counsel and Secretary since 2008.
In addition to his new role, Olohan will join the board of directors of MAPFRE USA. He succeeds Jose Manuel Corral, the current COO, who will take on the role of Chief Executive of MAPFRE Vida (MAPFRE Life) and General Manager of the Bancassurance Channel of MAPFRE España.
MAPFRE USA president and CEO Jaime Tamayo noted: “Dan brings strong leadership and a deep understanding of MAPFRE USA’s business and the industry to this position.
“Having overseen our legal and regulatory affairs for many years, he is uniquely qualified and well-positioned to drive our operational strategy forward and ensure continued efficiency and excellence across the organization.”
Tamayo also commented on Corral’s transition, saying, “Jose Manuel has been instrumental in steering our operations through one of the most complex times in the history of the personal lines insurance market in the United States. He has shown strong commitment to MAPFRE in the US and has been a valued contributor to the organization in the last few years. We wish him the best in his new position.”
Corral, who will also begin his new role on August 1, has been with MAPFRE for over three decades and has served as the USA COO since 2021.
