Davies has appointed Richard Barke as chief executive officer of its Insurance Solutions division.
Barke, formerly chief financial officer at Davies-owned Asta, brings more than 20 years of industry experience, including senior leadership roles at Asta, Aspen, and KPMG. In his new role, he will oversee the division’s operations and spearhead its growth strategy, working closely with Davies’ global leadership team to advance the company’s investment in technology and innovation.
The Insurance Solutions division serves Lloyd’s syndicates, MGAs, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, and captive owners, offering services such as underwriting and broking management, outsourced operations, risk transfer solutions, and support for regulatory, legal, and operational needs, as well as distribution development.
In a concurrent leadership move, Steven Crabb has been named deputy chairman of Insurance Solutions. His focus will be on driving organic growth, particularly by expanding the division’s footprint in the US and other key markets. Crabb will identify new opportunities for expansion and help the team deliver on strategic goals.
The leadership changes follow the recent appointment of James Ferris as CEO of Davies’ captive management division. Reporting to Barke, Ferris will be tasked with enhancing services for captive owners and growing the division’s reach into new jurisdictions.
These appointments align with Davies’ long-term Vision 2030 plan, which targets annual global revenues of £2.5–£3 billion within the next five years. To support this ambition, the company secured £275 million in new credit facilities in May, aimed at accelerating investment in generative AI, automation, and global mergers and acquisitions.
