European Insurance Market Sees Key Leadership Appointments

The past 24 hours have brought a wave of senior leadership changes across the European insurance sector, with notable appointments at Arch Insurance, DUAL Europe, and ISC Group.

Arch Insurance Establishes Executive Assurance Role in France
Arch Insurance (EU) dac has named Julien Martins as head of executive assurance for France, a newly created role based in Paris. In his new position, Martins will focus on expanding the insurer’s executive assurance portfolio, delivering directors & officers (D&O) coverage to corporates, SMEs, and financial institutions across French-speaking markets, including France, Belgium, Monaco, and Luxembourg.

Martins joins from AXA XL, where he served as regional product leader for casualty in APAC and Europe. He has also held senior underwriting roles at Liberty Specialty Markets and XL Catlin.

DUAL Europe Strengthens Cyber Division with New Leadership
DUAL Europe has expanded its cyber team with both a strategic hire and leadership promotions. Effective September 3, Marek Stanislawski has been appointed head of business development, cyber Europe. Based in Stockholm, he will be responsible for advancing scalable cyber solutions and enhancing broker relationships.

In addition, effective October 1, Erika Chemello will step into the role of head of cyber Southern Europe, overseeing Italy and the Iberian region, while Johan Hedenstedt has been promoted to head of cyber Northern Europe, with responsibility for the Nordics, Ireland, and Benelux.

ISC Group Welcomes Aviva Ireland CEO as Ambassador
ISC Group has named Declan O’Rourke, CEO of Aviva Insurance Ireland DAC, as its first male ambassador in Ireland.

With more than three decades of experience in insurance and financial services, O’Rourke has held senior leadership positions at AIG across Ireland, the UK, the US, and Latin America. He also previously served as president of the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
