Everest Group has announced two significant leadership changes: Andrew McBride has been promoted to group chief claims officer, and Lope Garcia has been appointed as global reinsurance chief claims officer for the company’s reinsurance division.
In his new role, McBride will oversee claims operations across both the insurance and reinsurance divisions of Everest. He will collaborate closely with the company’s global leaders to enhance claims excellence and deliver superior service. McBride previously served as the global head of claims at Everest Insurance, a position he held since joining the company in 2021. Before Everest, he was the executive vice president for claims at Chubb and held senior claims positions at ACE, QBE Insurance Group in Europe, and AON.
Garcia, based in Miami, will report to McBride. He will work closely with Jill Beggs, the reinsurance chief operating officer, and her global executive team to shape the reinsurance division’s strategy and operations. Garcia brings over three decades of claims leadership experience to his new role. Prior to joining Everest, he was the senior vice president of claims at Chubb for Latin America, where he led a team of over 1,400 employees across nine countries and developed the company’s claims strategy. Garcia has also served as the chief claims officer for Latin America at Zurich Insurance Group and AIG.
These appointments follow the recent promotion of Harry Townsend to chief ceded reinsurance officer of Everest Insurance.
