Flood Re Appoints Perry Thomas As Chief Executive Officer

Flood Re has announced the appointment of Perry Thomas as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately, subject to regulatory approval. Thomas succeeds Stuart Logue, who has served as interim CEO since August 2024.

Thomas has been a non-executive director on Flood Re’s board since October 2021 and has also chaired the Risk & Capital Committee. He brings extensive leadership experience, having held senior roles as CEO, chief risk officer, and group chief actuary across multiple jurisdictions. His previous positions include leadership roles at Lloyds Bank, HSBC, and Reinsurance Group of America.

Andy Rosewell, chair of Flood Re, expressed confidence in Thomas’ leadership, citing his expertise and deep understanding of the organization. He also acknowledged Logue’s contributions as interim CEO and CFO, crediting him with laying the foundation for future success.

Logue, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, was appointed interim CEO in July 2024. He has held senior finance roles at Ageas, Direct Line Group, and the Royal Bank of Scotland, bringing a wealth of experience in insurance and financial services.

In addition to its leadership transition, Flood Re continues its commitment to flood resilience. Earlier this year, the organization partnered with the Scottish Flood Forum to launch Flo, a mobile Flood Bus initiative designed to enhance property-level flood preparedness and support communities across Scotland in mitigating future flood risks.
