FOIL Relaunches London Division As Standalone Entity For Legal Professionals In The London Market

The Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) has relaunched its London division under a new identity: London Market FOIL, introducing a standalone membership model tailored to legal professionals operating within the London and Lloyd’s insurance markets.

First established in 2018 as part of FOIL’s broader organisation, the London division was originally created to support law firms advising insurers and reinsurers active in the London Market. The newly independent structure enables firms to join London Market FOIL directly, without requiring full FOIL membership.

As part of the relaunch, firms can now subscribe at a reduced rate and gain access to a specialised programme covering legal, regulatory, and operational topics critical to the London Market. London Market FOIL will continue to provide lobbying support, educational resources, and networking opportunities, with an enhanced focus on issues shaping the international re/insurance landscape.

The division will also maintain its sector focus teams—collaborative groups of lawyers from different member firms working on market-specific themes, including marine, energy, reinsurance, and construction. Further focus areas are under active consideration as part of the division’s growth strategy.
