Gallagher Bassett Expands Executive Team

Gallagher Bassett has appointed Irina Simpson as Executive Vice President of Workers’ Compensation and Ajay Sinha as Managing Director of its Captive Practice, reinforcing its leadership team amid the evolving insurance landscape.

Simpson brings extensive experience in claims management, process improvement, and client engagement to her new role. Before joining Gallagher Bassett, she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer at PMA Companies. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from Temple University, and executive education at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Simpson also holds a Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM) designation.

Her appointment further strengthens Gallagher Bassett’s leadership team, which also includes Regina Woodberry, Vice President for Client Services, recently recognized as the top female insurance leader in the United States for 2024.

Sinha, now managing director of Gallagher Bassett’s Captive Practice, is charged with leading the company’s efforts in offering alternatives to the traditional insurance market. Before taking on this role, Sinha managed Gallagher Bassett’s Claims Operation for nine years.

His new position is expected to focus on expanding captive insurance options, a segment that has seen increased demand as businesses explore innovative risk management solutions outside conventional insurance frameworks.

As a leader in third-party claims administration, Gallagher Bassett views these appointments as part of a broader strategy to enhance its expertise within Workers’ Compensation and Captive Insurance. Amid rising insurance costs and increasingly complex risk environments, the company aims to deliver specialized solutions tailored to the evolving needs of its clients.
