Gallagher Continues Acquisition Spree With Two Deals

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has expanded its presence in the employee benefits and property & casualty markets through the acquisition of two specialized agencies: Oklahoma-based Scout Benefits Group and California-based Statewide Commercial Insurance Brokers.

Scout Benefits Group specializes in employee benefits consulting, with a focus on developing health plan strategies tailored for Oklahoma-based clients. Tiffany Davis, Todd Davis, and their team will remain in their current office, now under the leadership of Leah Vetter, who heads Gallagher’s Central Region employee benefits consulting division.

“Scout Benefits Group brings a strong culture and respected industry reputation that aligns well with our own expertise in benefits consulting,” commented J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO of Gallagher. “We’re pleased to welcome Tiffany, Todd, and their team to Gallagher.”

Gallagher has also acquired Statewide Commercial Insurance Brokers, previously known as American Matar International, a property & casualty insurance agency based in Altadena. This agency is recognized for its specialization in the construction sector, catering to clients across California and other states. Led by Lana Matar, the Statewide team will continue operations from their current location under the oversight of Scott Firestone, who manages Gallagher’s Southwest retail property & casualty brokerage operations.

These latest acquisitions, whose financial details were not disclosed, follow a series of recent expansions by the global brokerage. Other recent transactions include the acquisition of Adept Benefits in Washington, Filos Agency in New York, Australia’s Via Financial Group, and Redington Ltd in the UK.

Based in Snoqualmie, Adept Benefits is a health and benefits consulting firm that serves clients across the greater Seattle area.
