Gallagher Re has appointed Julie Gigleux as a senior reinsurance broker within its Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) team.
Announcing the appointment via LinkedIn, Gallagher Re expressed enthusiasm about Gigleux joining its senior team, which focuses on serving the French, Belgian, and Luxembourg markets, as well as the Large and Complex client segment across the broader EMEA region. The company highlighted her extensive expertise in European casualty and client management, noting her valuable experience across multiple market segments.
Prior to joining Gallagher Re, Gigleux was a client manager at Munich Re for over two years, starting in October 2022. In this role, she was responsible for managing client and broker relationships, conducting market analyses, and formulating client strategies within the French market.
Before her tenure at Munich Re, Gigleux spent over six years at New Reinsurance Company Ltd. (NewRe), where she held various roles in the casualty underwriting team. She initially joined NewRe in 2016 as an assistant casualty underwriter, focusing on UK liability as well as Greece and Cyprus. She later progressed to casualty associate underwriter and then casualty underwriter, taking charge of accounts in France, Benelux, Greece, and Cyprus. In 2021, she was promoted to senior casualty underwriter, overseeing non-motor liability accounts in the London Market.
During her time at NewRe, Gigleux played a key role in developing reinsurance business across continental Europe. Over four renewal periods, she worked to enhance the balance of the underwriting portfolio by expanding in her designated markets. In September 2021, she also assumed additional responsibilities in the UK liability sector before transitioning to Munich Re the following year.
Earlier in her career, Gigleux held positions as head of communications at 5ème Set and as a financial advisor assistant at La Banque Postale. Her professional background spans financial advising, client and portfolio management, and underwriting, equipping her with a diverse skill set for her new role at Gallagher Re.
