The deal will integrate Trellis’ artificial intelligence technology into Engine by Gen, with the aim of simplifying how consumers compare and select insurance products while enabling more personalised recommendations.
Trellis’ Savvy platform leverages machine learning, real-time marketplace bidding and conversational AI to match consumers with suitable insurance providers more accurately.
Engine by Gen currently delivers product recommendations across credit, savings and other financial services through partner apps and websites. By incorporating Trellis’ technology, the platform will expand its insurance offering and provide users with more transparent and tailored guidance.
The acquisition forms part of Gen’s broader strategy to develop Engine into a comprehensive embedded marketplace focused on financial wellness, spanning credit, loans, savings and insurance products delivered directly within customer journeys.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the deal is not expected to have a material impact on Gen’s financial results.
