HDI Global SE Appoints Phil McDowell as Global Sales & Distribution Lead
HDI Global SE has named Phil McDowell as its global sales and distribution lead for international programmes and captives. In this newly created role, McDowell will focus on expanding the insurer’s global broker relationships, enhancing its international programmes (IP) and captive propositions, and supporting the development of client and broker portals.
McDowell, a Chartered Insurer, brings a wealth of industry experience, having previously held leadership positions at RSA and Allianz. Based in London, he will operate within HDI Global’s global IP department, contributing to the firm’s marketing initiatives aimed at both local and global markets. HDI Global currently manages approximately 5,300 international programmes and maintains a presence in over 175 countries.
This appointment comes as the company celebrates a major milestone, reporting full-year insurance revenue of €10.0 billion for 2024 – its first time reaching double-digit billions, underscoring its sustained growth and global reach.
McLarens Names Shoukat Ali Bhamani as Chief Information Officer
Meanwhile, McLarens, a global leader in loss adjusting and claims management, has appointed Shoukat Ali Bhamani as its first-ever chief information officer (CIO). Bhamani will join the firm’s global management team, reporting directly to CEO Gary Brown.
In this pivotal role, Bhamani will oversee the company’s global IT strategy, including ERP system development, data infrastructure enhancements, and advanced analytics capabilities. His mandate includes reinforcing operational resilience through technological integration, ensuring that McLarens remains at the forefront of digital transformation in the claims management sector.
With over two decades of experience in enterprise technology, Bhamani has held senior IT roles at major organizations, including Luk, Schaeffler, and Serta Simmons Bedding. His extensive expertise spans ERP modernization, business integration, and the application of artificial intelligence and analytics to optimize business processes.
Bhamani’s academic background includes an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, an MSME from McGill University, and a BSME from NED University. He has also been recognized with the prestigious CIO of the Year ORBiE Award, underscoring his impact in the field of enterprise technology.
