Howden Re has announced that Shireen Gammoh will join as managing director within its legacy and structured reinsurance team, starting July 17. Gammoh will be based in Bermuda.
Gammoh brings a wealth of experience in capital modeling and risk management, which will be crucial in supporting Howden Re’s plans to grow its legacy business. Her impressive career includes positions such as global head of capital advisory & modeling at Gallagher Re and head of strategic & financial advisory at the same firm. Additionally, she has served as group head of capital management and modeling at Enstar Group, head of capital and reinsurance analytics at Flood Re, and head of reinsurance analytics and reinsurance & capital actuary at Canopius Group.
Her early career featured roles as an actuarial analyst at International General Insurance and a reinsurance internship at Zaris Insurance Consultants Ltd.
Since its establishment in 2015, Howden Re’s legacy business has been recognized for closing some of the industry’s largest deals, with transactions ranging from $100 million to $35 billion in reserves. The team provides valuable insights into legacy specialist reinsurers and their investors through Howden Capital Markets & Advisory.
In addition to this appointment, Howden Re has announced its expansion into the Japanese market with the launch of Howden Re Japan Ltd and a partnership with Keystone ILS Capital. This new entity will offer reinsurance brokerage services and strategic advice, leveraging data, analytics, and capital markets expertise for the Japanese market.
