Two major players in the insurance industry have announced significant leadership changes this week, with Specialist Risk Group (SRG) naming Neil Nimmo as UK Chief Executive and Asta appointing Stuart Logue as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
SRG Names Neil Nimmo as UK CEO Amid Global Growth Plans
Specialist Risk Group has appointed Neil Nimmo as UK Chief Executive, marking a pivotal step in the company’s global expansion strategy. The appointment follows the 2024 selection of Collin Yap as CEO for the Asia-Pacific region.
Nimmo brings more than 17 years of leadership experience from Lockton, where he served as both Chief Executive and Chairman. During his tenure, he played a key role in steering the firm’s strategic growth and international development. At SRG, he will lead the group’s retail, wholesale, and underwriting operations—divisions that have been instrumental to its rapid growth.
Pending regulatory approval, Nimmo will also join the SRG operating board and the group executive committee.
“Neil’s decision to join us is a strong endorsement of our strategy and a reflection of the unique platform we’re building at SRG,” said Downey.
Founded in 2019 by Downey and Lee Anderson, SRG has experienced rapid expansion, supported by global investment partners Warburg Pincus and Temasek. The group now generates over £250 million in annual revenue and employs approximately 1,500 people—half of whom are based outside the UK.
Asta Appoints Stuart Logue as CFO, Expands Board
Asta, a leading third-party managing agent at Lloyd’s, has appointed Stuart Logue as Chief Financial Officer, subject to regulatory approval. He succeeds Richard Barke, who will transition to a senior leadership role within Asta’s parent company, Davies.
Logue joins with over three decades of financial leadership experience in the financial services sector. Most recently, he served as Interim CEO and previously as CFO of Flood Re. His career also includes senior roles at HomeServe, Ageas UK, Canopius Group, Direct Line Group, and RBS.
In addition to Logue’s appointment, Asta has strengthened its board with the recent additions of Sian Fisher and Andrew Neden as independent non-executive directors. Neden, who will chair the audit committee, brings 40 years of experience in financial services. Fisher contributes more than 20 years of senior leadership in the insurance industry, including positions at Hiscox Insurance and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
These leadership appointments underscore both firms’ commitment to strategic growth and operational excellence amid an evolving global insurance landscape.
