The insurance and risk management industry has witnessed a series of high-profile leadership moves in the past 24 hours, with Arch Insurance, Sicsic Advisory, Willis, and Davies all making strategic hires to strengthen their capabilities and align with evolving market demands.

Arch Expands Casualty Team in France

Arch Insurance (EU) dac has announced the appointment of Patrick Richard as head of casualty for France and Virginie du Parc Locmaria as senior casualty underwriter, effective September 15. Based in Paris, the duo will spearhead Arch’s expansion in the French casualty market, focusing on primary, umbrella, and excess liability coverage for industrial, manufacturing, and services clients.

Richard, who brings over 30 years of industry experience, previously served as head of casualty at Volante Global and held senior roles at Swiss Re and AXA. Du Parc Locmaria also joins from Volante Global, with prior underwriting experience at Chubb, Hiscox, and AIG.

Sicsic Advisory Launches New Board Practice

Regulatory consultancy Sicsic Advisory has introduced a new board practice, appointing Sally Dewar as senior adviser to lead the initiative. Dewar, a former JP Morgan executive and UK Financial Services Authority leader, most recently served as CEO of A&O Shearman’s consulting arm, which she established in 2018.

In her new role, Dewar will advise boards on governance reviews, accountability frameworks, succession planning, training, and cultural assessments.

Willis Strengthens Placement and Portfolio Solutions

Willis, part of WTW, has bolstered its placement and portfolio solutions division with two senior hires. Gina Mulhall joins as head of global portfolio solutions, where she will oversee Willis’ Gemini facility and broader portfolio initiatives. She was previously managing director at Marsh.

Meanwhile, Kapila Rudra has been appointed head of data strategy for global placement. Rudra brings 15 years of experience from Marsh and Canopius, enhancing Willis’ data-driven approach to placement strategy.

Davies Invests in Claims Technology Leadership

Davies has created a new leadership role to strengthen its claims technology offering, appointing John Salt as group chief product officer. Salt, who joined Davies in 2020 through its acquisition of Keoghs, will oversee the development of the firm’s claims technology suite, working closely with global product and engineering teams.

Salt has played a pivotal role in implementing AI-driven claims solutions at Davies. His new role follows the creation of a chief AI officer position last year, underscoring the firm’s commitment to its Vision 2030 strategy—focused on technology investment, operational excellence, geographic expansion, and enhanced client solutions.
