Insurers Announce Wave Of Senior Appointments Across UK And International Markets

A number of UK and international insurers and managing general agents (MGAs) have confirmed senior appointments across their underwriting and leadership teams.

Arch Insurance strengthens casualty capabilities

Arch Insurance International has named Beth Jenkins as senior casualty underwriter.

Joining from Allied World, Jenkins will support the growth of Arch’s UK risk-managed retail platform and its wholesale EEA portfolio. Based in London, she will report to Marie-Claire Bessada, head of retail, general liability.

Pen Underwriting overhauls marine leadership structure

Pen Underwriting has announced a restructured leadership model for its specialist marine practice, effective 1 January 2026. The refreshed structure maintains Pen’s marine underwriting specialisms while introducing pan-practice roles designed to drive growth and improve operational consistency.

Under the new framework:

  • Tom Batterbury will lead the marine war and marine professional indemnity divisions, operating under the Vessel Protect and Freeboard.
  • Jack Buchan will head Fortify, the brown water hull specialist.
  • James King will take charge of BMM Ports & Terminals, the dedicated ports and terminals facility.
  • Stephen Loader will lead TMT, which delivers bespoke property and liability solutions for boat builders, repairers, equipment suppliers, clubs, and marinas.

Additionally, Munro Anderson has been promoted to director of strategy and operations, while James Kent becomes commercial director. Co-managing directors Paul Hartley and Chris Goddard will exit the business as part of the restructure.

Tokio Marine Kiln expands liability expertise

Tokio Marine Kiln has appointed Harry Gregory to its liability team, where he will report to department head Oliver Delaney.

Gregory joins from Marsh, bringing experience in multinational programme management across the energy, power, and renewables sectors.

The Swedish Club boosts charterers & traders offering

The Swedish Club has named Terri Jay as head of charterers & traders.

Jay, who previously held a senior role at Gard AS, brings more than 30 years of international underwriting and leadership experience. Managing director Thomas Nordberg said the appointment strengthens the Club’s technical capability and enhances support for its global charterer and trader members.
