Inszone Insurance Services Expands Kansas Presence With Acquisition Of Munson Insurance Agency

Inszone Insurance Services has announced the acquisition of Munson Insurance Agency, a long-standing firm based in Arkansas City, Kansas. This marks Inszone’s second acquisition in the state, further extending its reach across the Midwest and deepening its service capabilities within the Kansas insurance market.

Founded in 1974 by Jim Munson, the agency has been a trusted provider of insurance services to Arkansas City and its surrounding communities for nearly 50 years. In 1994, Jim’s son, Mike Munson, joined the agency and later assumed full ownership in 2008. Under his leadership, the firm built a strong reputation for expertise in business and farm insurance.

With the acquisition, clients of Munson Insurance Agency will benefit from access to Inszone’s comprehensive portfolio of insurance solutions. Operations will continue under the existing team in Arkansas City, ensuring continuity and familiarity for longtime customers.

The move also aligns with Inszone’s broader strategic expansion. The company recently grew its Texas presence with the acquisition of LIA Texas, LLC, also known as Lyon’s Insurance Agency.

Bolstering Farm Insurance Capabilities in Kansas

Munson Insurance Agency’s specialization in farm and business coverage complements Inszone’s growing focus on the agricultural insurance sector—a critical industry in Kansas. The state remains a major player in U.S. agriculture, with insurance participation for key crops like wheat, corn, grain sorghum, and soybeans consistently ranging from 87% to 100%.

According to the USDA Risk Management Agency, Kansas farmers insured more than 18 million acres in 2024, with total liabilities surpassing $5.9 billion. Key federal programs like the Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage (PRF) initiative accounted for $321 million in liabilities and $47 million in indemnities. Additionally, the Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) program for feeder cattle covered $818 million in liabilities with $30 million in indemnities.

By integrating Munson Insurance Agency into its network, Inszone strengthens its position as a leader in the region’s agricultural insurance space—providing farmers and businesses with enhanced resources, personalized service, and greater peace of mind.
