Pen Underwriting Names Michael Doyle as CEO for Ireland
Pen Underwriting has appointed Michael Doyle as chief executive officer of its Irish operations, subject to regulatory approval. Doyle will join the multi-class, multi-territory managing general agent (MGA) and its executive team on March 1, 2026.
Bringing over 25 years of experience in Ireland’s insurance market, Doyle currently serves as CEO at Ivernia Insurance, a position he has held since 2023. His previous roles include director of sales and distribution at Zurich’s general insurance business in Ireland and managing director at Wrightway Underwriting.
Allianz Trade Promotes William Whittington to Global Head of Specialty Credit and Mid Term
Allianz Trade has announced the promotion of William Whittington to global head of specialty credit and mid term, succeeding Christophe White, who is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities outside the Allianz Group.
Whittington began his career at Lloyd’s of London before joining Allianz Trade in 2016. Over the years, he has worked across Singapore, Paris, and New York, most recently leading the specialty credit and mid term business in London. In his new global role, Whittington will continue to be based in London.
BHSI Elevates Frederic de Blieck to Country Manager for Belgium
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has promoted Frederic de Blieck to country manager for Belgium, expanding on his current position as head of executive and professional lines.
De Blieck, who joined BHSI in 2022, brings nearly two decades of experience in financial lines, further strengthening BHSI’s leadership presence in the Belgian market.
Antares Global Enhances Marine Leadership with Cargo Team Promotions
Antares Global has reinforced its marine division’s leadership team with the promotion of Andy Bridgwood and Chris Early to joint class cargo underwriters. The pair will oversee the company’s cargo book and report directly to James Glynn, head of marine.
Bridgwood, who joined Antares in 2022, has over 15 years of experience in cargo underwriting, having previously held roles at Tokio Marine Europe Insurance and Generali. Early, who joined the firm in March 2025, brings a decade of underwriting experience from positions at Starstone, AIG, and Apollo.
