The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has today announced that Allison Potts, Insurance Institute of London CEO, and Melanie Jordan, Local Institute Network forum representative for the North East, are due to receive the President’s Award.
Reserved for CII or PFS members, or employees who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the work of the CII or PFS, the prestigious awards will be formally presented at the CII President’s Dinner in November.
In a Press release, the CII noted that Potts, who heads the permanent staff of the Insurance Institute of London, the largest of the CII’s local institutes, also leads governance, AGM and committee work, the Institute’s professional network events, as well as its CPD program and research publications.
Commenting on the commendation, Potts said: “I am thrilled to be receiving this prestigious award. My time with the Insurance Institute of London has been hugely rewarding, and this recognition is gratefully received. I would like to thank everyone involved with the Institute for their continued support, hard work, and dedication.”
Jordan, who has served as a council member of the Insurance Institute in Leeds since 2015, also served as president of the IIL from 2020 to 2022 and was previously Education Secretary, coordinating the education team, and extending the IIL’s local CPD program. Jordan now acts as national forum officer and management team leader for the North East Region.
She said: “I was surprised and delighted to hear that I was to receive the CII President’s Award, which is a huge honor. I am passionate about my work with the Insurance Institute of Leeds and extremely happy that my contribution has been recognized.”
CII president, Russell Higginbotham, also commented on the upcoming awards and said: “I am delighted to be presenting the CII President’s Awards to Melanie and Allison, in recognition of their significant and valuable contributions to the CII and PFS over many years. It is a wonderful duty of a CII President to consider nominees for the President’s Award, which may also be described as a lifetime achievement award. It is only awarded when there is a suitably deserving candidate, so I am very pleased to be presenting two of these awards this year.”
