Markel, the insurance arm of Markel Group Inc., has formed a new collaboration with Upfort to provide eligible US cyber policyholders with access to enhanced cybersecurity tools.
The initiative is intended to complement traditional insurance coverage with preventative technology designed to help reduce exposure to cyber risks.
The partnership underscores Markel’s broader strategy to respond to the increasing frequency and severity of cyber threats impacting middle-market businesses. By integrating cybersecurity solutions alongside its insurance products, the insurer aims to support clients throughout the full lifecycle of a cyber incident, placing greater emphasis on risk prevention and operational preparedness.
As part of the agreement, Upfort Shield will be made available to eligible Markel cyber policyholders in the US. The platform offers capabilities including advanced email security, continuous threat monitoring, endpoint protection and employee cybersecurity training. Availability of services and pricing will vary based on individual policy terms.
In addition, the collaboration provides Markel with access to security-related insights that can help inform underwriting decisions and support the development of more tailored cyber insurance solutions as the market continues to evolve.
