Mission, the global MGA incubator, has announced its support for the launch of Kovrilo, a new UK-based managing general agent specialising in commercial insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Set to go live in early 2026, Kovrilo will distribute a suite of SME-focused insurance products through the broker market. Its proposition centres on a technology-enabled underwriting platform designed to help brokers tailor cover to the specific requirements of individual small businesses.
The MGA will be led by Tim Smith and Sonia Habib. Smith previously served for six years as underwriting and product director at Jensten Group, following earlier roles at Policyfast and Aviva. Habib also joins from Jensten, where she spent over a decade and most recently held the position of head of product development.
Kovrilo joins a pipeline of Mission-backed MGAs that has been building through 2025, including Lumara Insurance, which recently began trading with a focus on commercial combined and motor trade combined cover for SMEs and mid-market firms.
According to market observers, a growing wave of new MGAs is embracing modular and flexible policy structures supported by digital underwriting tools, as they seek to address specialist niches and underserved segments.
Kovrilo’s arrival further reflects the increasing number of MGAs targeting the UK SME market with broker-centric, technology-driven platforms.
