MNK Group And Agria Pet Insurance Announce Senior Appointments To Drive Expansion

Two insurance firms have made key leadership appointments as part of their continued efforts to strengthen operations and pursue strategic growth in both domestic and international markets.

MNK Group Bolsters Governance with Key Hire

Independent global insurance firm MNK Group has named Wajahat Khawaja as its new Head of Governance and Controls, enhancing its leadership team amid ongoing expansion across multiple global regions.

Bringing over 30 years of experience in the insurance sector, Khawaja has previously developed governance frameworks and strategic controls for leading international insurance businesses. In his new role, he will be responsible for refining group-wide policies and implementing unified control standards across MNK Group’s operations.

The appointment follows the company’s April rebrand, a move designed to more effectively integrate its broking, managing general agent (MGA), and risk-carrying divisions. MNK Group currently operates in markets across the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East.

Group Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Kumar welcomed the appointment, stating: “Wajahat’s leadership is an important step as we continue our rapid international expansion.”

Agria Strengthens Sales Function with Strategic Appointment

Agria Pet Insurance has appointed Carl Oakes as Sales Performance Director, reinforcing its commercial leadership amid sustained business growth and a new strategic partnership with Lloyds Bank.

Oakes brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Agria, he served on the board at Source Insurance as Sales and Insurer Director. His career includes senior roles at Gallagher, Legal & General, and Pinnacle Insurance, where he led the creation of an intermediary distribution business.

Commenting on the appointment, Agria Managing Director Vicki Wentworth noted the company’s strong recent performance: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve achieved 47% growth in a market that expanded by 11%, and Carl’s appointment supports our ambition to continue outpacing the market.”
