Oceanview Reinsurance has announced the promotion of Stelian Dragan to president and chief executive officer of its Bermuda operations, effective immediately.
In his expanded role, Dragan will lead Oceanview Re’s operations, driving the development of innovative reinsurance solutions and strengthening the company’s market presence. Dragan joined Oceanview Re in April 2022 as president and chief business development officer.
His career spans more than 20 years in reinsurance and financial services, with experience in corporate development, strategic planning, and capital markets.
Egan highlighted Dragan’s understanding of the reinsurance market, familiarity with the company’s services, and strategic approach as key factors in his promotion.
Dragan’s impressive career includes leadership positions at Athene Life Re, Bear Stearns, and Deutsche Bank Securities, where he focused on reinsurance solutions, strategic advisory, and capital markets. He holds an MBA in finance from Columbia University.
In addition, Oceanview Re announced the appointment of Michael C. Ward as vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) in October.
Ward, who brings over 16 years of financial leadership experience in the reinsurance industry, will oversee the company’s finance and reporting functions. His role will be pivotal in supporting Oceanview Re’s strategic objectives and maintaining its commitment to financial excellence.
