Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe has announced the appointment of Ruth Damian as Senior Client Partner for North America Life Financial Solutions.
Chris Shanahan, CEO of Life and Health at PartnerRe, shared the news in a LinkedIn post, expressing enthusiasm about the addition to the team. “Very excited to have Ruth be the latest great talent to join PartnerRe,” Shanahan wrote.
Damian brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, specializing in managing domestic and international reinsurance agreements for leading life insurers and reinsurers. She joins PartnerRe from SCOR, where she most recently held the role of Assistant Vice President of Financial Solutions.
Before her tenure at SCOR, Damian served as Structured Reinsurance Finance Lead at Brighthouse Financial. Her extensive career also includes senior positions at MetLife and Reinsurance Group of America, further solidifying her expertise in the field.
In addition to this appointment, AM Best recently reaffirmed PartnerRe Ltd.’s subsidiaries’ A+ (Superior) financial strength rating and “aa-” (Superior) long-term issuer credit rating. PartnerRe Ltd.’s long-term issuer credit rating remains “a-” (Excellent), underscoring the company’s strong financial standing.
