Previsico Appoints Mark Pinkerton As Chief Technical Officer

Previsico has appointed Mark Pinkerton as chief technical officer as it accelerates the global scaling of its live flood forecasting and real-time flood risk intelligence platform.

In his new role, Pinkerton will lead Previsico’s global technology strategy, with responsibility for product development and engineering operations. He will play a key role in supporting the company’s expansion into new markets, while ensuring its forecasting capabilities continue to evolve in line with customer needs and regulatory requirements.

Pinkerton joins Previsico from Risilience, a sustainability intelligence platform incubated at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Risk Studies, where he served as senior vice president of software engineering. During his tenure, he led software development teams and oversaw the technical delivery of the Risilience analytics platform.

He brings extensive experience in insurance analytics and catastrophe modelling, having held senior technical leadership roles across the sector. These include senior director of analytics at Guidewire Software, where he worked on cloud-based insurance analytics solutions, and chief technology officer at Oasis Loss Modelling Framework, leading the design and implementation of its modelling platform. Earlier in his career, Pinkerton spent more than a decade at Risk Management Solutions, now Moody’s RMS, contributing to catastrophe modelling, portfolio management and underwriting applications.

“This is a pivotal moment in the company’s journey, and I look forward to leveraging my background to enhance our flood forecasting technology and expand our support, helping businesses across the UK and US become more flood resilient.”
