Several recruits, encompassing inner ones, have been snapped up by QBE European Operations for the insurer’s management liability team.
Additions to the London-based enrollment include senior underwriters Paul Perry, Tom Hunt, and Rebecca Lowe, as well as financial lines underwriters Urvi Patel, Nick Grantham, and Mark Pankhania.
“Our expanded team bring a prosperity of expertise that will be integral to the further growth of our management liability portfolio,” said QBE Europe retail financial lines portfolio manager Carly Eveniss.
“We see an increased chance to expand the international reach of our portfolio and to work more closely with QBE’s other cords of business to provide the best service for the unique challenges our customers are facing,” continued the QBE manager, who heads the team.
“Senior leaders are increasingly being held to account when a business issue occurs so having cover such as D&O is increasingly important, and we see considerable opportunity to help our customers be more resilient to such risks.”
A UK study by QBE in 2021 found that 48% of senior business leaders feel their liability within their role has increased, highlighting the importance of management penalty.
